Malibu, CA – November 2, 2009 – Leading U.S. toymaker JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (Nasdaq: JAKK) expands its robust portfolio of Disney licensed products with Disney Consumer Products (DCP) adding incremental Disney Fairies toy categories to its existing line: dolls, doll accessories and play sets. With a full range of dolls and role play under one umbrella, the new toy lines will employ the latest technology and incorporate more interactive elements than ever before, allowing fun and creative ways for girls to share the fairy experience with friends. New products are expected to launch at retailers across the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand starting in Spring 2010.

JAKKS currently produces dress-up, role-play, Halloween costumes, plug and play and novelty items based on Disney Fairies. With this expanded focus, JAKKS is now slated to produce a range of dolls including small, fashion, soft and collector dolls, as well as accessories and play sets to enable girls to play out scenes from the Disney Fairies stories. JAKKS and DCP have forged a strong collaborative relationship across other Disney branded toys; together they’ll develop a cohesive Disney Fairies merchandising program to create a uniquely compelling brand statement at retail in 2010.

Following the success of Walt Disney Pictures Tinker Bell on Disney Blu-ray and hi-def DVD in 2008, Disney recently expanded the originally planned four-part DVD series with a fifth new title; the second title Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure released October 27, 2009.
 

On October 25th, the United Nations named Tinker Bell “HONORARY AMBASSADOR OF GREEN” celebrating the world premiere of the Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure movie under the Secretary-General’s Creative Community Outreach Initiative (CCOI), and promoting environmental awareness in the lead-up to the upcoming Copenhagen.
